Are you looking for a change of industry, or to extend your career in the marine sector?

Dickey Boats seeks an experienced Cabinet maker, Joiner or boat builder to join our high performing Marine Interiors team.  With new vessels in build we are looking for someone to be part of our interiors team with a focus on cabinetry and liner assembly and installation.

Our Interiors team is proud to be responsible for our class-leading interior layouts and designs on our acclaimed vessels.

Role Overview

  • Assembly and installation of cabinetry solutions across a range of boats sizes, utilising both laminates and veneered surfaces.
  • The installation and application of soft vinyl wrapping, coverings and flooring options.
  • General fit-out problem solving as is required in bespoke vessels.

You will be working with a team of professionals who pride themselves on setting some of the highest standards in the New Zealand marine industry. Every vessel is customised guaranteeing a variety of projects to work on.

This is a fast-paced environment that would suit an energetic tradesperson who has an eye for detail. Physical fitness is required for the role as you are continuously moving in and out of boats to install your work.

Ideal candidates:

  • Proven experience working in cabinetry.
  • Proficient in cabinet construction, from measuring and cutting to finishing and installation.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality workmanship
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and instructions accurately
  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, and machinery commonly used in cabinetry
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing project requirements
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials as required
