Leading New Zealand custom boat-builder Dickey Boats, is looking for a talented and performance-driven Purchasing,Operations & Commercial Coordinator.

Continuing high demand for its acclaimed luxury vessels sees Napier-based Dickey Boats establishing a new role focused on the overall purchasing for the business and stores management.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager and working closely with the wider operations team this is a pivotal position in the business. Key responsibilities include:

  • Optimised purchasing for all vessels in build
  • Updates and overall management of BOMS
  • Parts pricing and budget management
  • Close communication with the Stores Coordinator
  • Supplier management and procurement
  • Relevant systems reviews and change implementation as required

To succeed in this role, the successful applicant will need to be capable and self-motivated with a passion for robust processes. With multiple projects requiring your detailed attention simultaneously, the ability to multitask will need to be proven as part of the interview process. Additionally, an applicant would be well positioned with the following skills:

  • Commercial acumen
  • Analytical abilities
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Knowledge of Xero business management software
  • The ability to generate timely and accurate reports

As with all roles within the Dickey Boats team, the incoming Purchasing, Operations & Commercial Coordinator will benefit considerably from a sleeves-rolled-up can-do attitude. Personal ownership within the team culture is also highly valued.

You may come to this role with experience in a similar role, alternatively you may be a recent graduate with a strong desire to build a career in purchasing and finance.
